Cloverleaf Soccer Association

U-8 Rulebook

Unless noted below, the Cloverleaf Soccer Association will abide by the Laws of the Game as recommended by US Youth Soccer (http://www.usyouthsoccer.org),  search for "official rules", and look for modifications and addendum for U-8.

 Exceptions

Law 1: Field of Play – The field dimensions will be 35 x 50.

Law 2: Ball Size – The ball size will be #3.

Law 3: Number of Players – The starting number of players on the field will be six (five field players and a goalie).

Law 5: Referee – There will be no referees…coaches may take the field to assist play, if necessary.

Law 7: Duration of the Game – We will play four twelve minute quarters with two minute breaks on the quarter and a five minute break at halftime.  Leniency will be granted in substitution.   

Law 11: Offsides – No offsides.

Law 13: Free Kicks – All kicks are indirect.

Law 14: Penalty Kicks – No penalty kicks.

Law 15: Throw-Ins – Players are granted leniency in performing textbook throw-ins.
